Meet Got Fishues!

Got Fishues was created in order to share everything the beautiful Florida Keys has to offer with our clients. Founded in 2019, Ken and Barb Rahmig teamed up with local Florida Keys Captain Matt Ginthner in order to bring the dream to life.

Having a 50′ Sportfish and a 24 Pro Line has allowed the company to go beyond just fishing charters to offer days at the sandbar, snorkeling tours, and sunset cruises through the mangroves.

The Got Fishues Team

Ken Rahmig  |  Captain

I found my passion for fishing & boating when I was a kid. I have owned 13 boats in my life and would always rather be doing anything on the water. “Got Fishues” got its name because I realized later in life that I really do have issues with fishing, so it seemed only appropriate to name my newest boat “Got Fishues”. I grew up in Colorado but have a love for the ocean and fishing. There is absolutely no place I would rather be than in the Keys. I am so drawn to the peacefulness and tranquility I feel while cruising and fishing on the Atlantic ocean. I am mesmerized by the clear, blue azure water and what is lurking below. I guess you could say it’s my happy place..

I love anything to do with the ocean. Although fishing is my true love, I am an avid scuba diver, love to catch lobster, snorkel, spearfish and I get a real thrill out of checking my crab traps! Now that I am the captain of “Got Fishues”, my desire is to share my love of the ocean and allow others to experience it as well. My wife, Barb, and I want to allow this life to be a platform for others to get the opportunity to explore and experience life at sea. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and meeting new friends through Got Fishues.

Barb Rahmig  |  Operations

This journey for me has been very fulfilling and educational. I would have to say I think I have “the keys disease”. Growing up in the big city of Dallas, TX and living in Denver, CO for a time, I truly appreciate the laid back lifestyle and the slower pace of the Keys. Being surrounded by the vast ocean playground, beautiful flowers, plants, and swaying palm trees has created a peacefulness in my soul. Jimmy Buffet sings the truth! I also love fishing. The moment I fell in love was when I first began bottom fishing and fighting huge grouper or mutton snapper.

Anchored up on the reef and fishing three different ways is my favorite way to fish, and the variety of fish still fascinates me. It’s like a box of chocolates. Ken and I and our many guests love the freshly cooked fish we have for dinner. It is a very fulfilling lifestyle and I am looking forward to sharing stories and experiences with clients of all ages, so they too can have that same love for the ocean and its many offerings. Take a leap, get out on the water, and fish!

Matt Ginthner  |  Captain

Growing up on the coast of North Carolina, I quickly picked up surfing and fishing. I always thought, in the back of my mind, that I would grow up to become a boat captain. From mating on fishing boats in North Carolina and Mexico to working my way up to captaining boats and tournament fishing in Ocean City, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean, I’ve continued to pursue my passion.

I first spent time in the Florida Keys as the captain of two private yachts. After spending time in Islamorada, I chose to stay for the amazing fishing and tight community.

I’m excited to be a part of Got Fishues because we all share the same passion and want to share that with our clientele. It’s our goal to create fishing, snorkeling, and on-the-water experiences that our customers will treasure and never forget!
